A comprehensive clinical assessment is the cornerstone of effective treatment planning. An assessment can take several hours to complete depending on the complexity of the case. Following an initial consultation and review of relevant records, testing is typically administered over one or more days. Results are shared in a later session and a formal report is provided. It is important to know that assessments do not necessarily provide a diagnosis, but sometimes rule-out suspected conditions or serve to confirm that a diagnosis is not appropriate.
Psychological treatment is focused on helping you make changes to improve your life. The treatment approaches used by Psychologists are individually tailored empirically-supported treatments, meaning that research has proven them to be effective. Different treatments are required for different conditions, as well as for different people. Typically, multiple treatment modalities are used with each client/patient so that the treatment they receive is the most comprehensive and beneficial.
Neuro-based therapies, such as neurofeedback, that can improve symptoms of some conditions for some people.
